Based on the statement Brelands husband made to the Indiana police, the last time he saw his wife was on February 25th, 2022 while walking on foot away from their home wearing tank-top and shorts at 10pm leaving behind their 5-month-old son, whom its reported that she was devoted to as well as leaving behind her personal items (cell phone, keys, wallet, ID). It is reported by Inside Edition, that weather conditions that night were in the 20’s. The husband reported her missing 24 hours after he last saw Mrs. Brelands. Inside edition also reports Brelands family states Ciera had made plans to leave her husband after they claim he was emotionally and physically abusive. Ciera’s cousin, Shelby Campbell, told inside edition there were several death threats and physical attacks. "He had shoved her into things. He would throw things at her when she was pregnant and when she was holding the baby. He hit her in the face with a gun. He bashed her head into a window while they were driving. He threatened to kill her and screamed at her," Campbell said.

Indiana police have stated Ciera’s husband Xavier Breland “is the sole person of intrest in the disappearance of Ciera Breland” although no one has been charged in Ciera’s case. Currently Xavier is being held in Coweta County, Georgia after being arrested in Indiana after reporting his wife missing and extradited to Georgia on a warrant for a prior case involving allegations of stalking his ex-wife after failing to appear in that case. Xavier Breland has pleaded not guilty to those charges.

Ciera Breland was last known to be visiting her family in Johns Creek, Georgia, from Carmel, Indiana, the week of February 20, 2022, with her husband, their five-month-old son, and their white labradoodle. Breland’s husband reported her missing on February 26, 2022, to the Carmel Police Department in Indiana. However, there is no evidence that Breland ever returned home after the family’s trip to Georgia. Breland’s last known location while visiting Georgia was at a residence on Highgate Manor Court in Johns Creek on February 23, 2022, at 7:17 p.m. Breland and her family were known to be traveling in a white 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan with Georgia license plate RMB 5869.
